THIS IS A REQUEST FOR INFORMATION (RFI) ONLY. This RFI is issued solely for information and planning purposes it does not constitute a Request for Proposal (RFP) or a promise to issue an RFP in the future. This request for information does not commit the Government to contract for any supply or service whatsoever. Further, the Navy is not at this time seeking proposals and will not accept unsolicited proposals. Respondees are advised that the U.S. Government will not pay for any information or administrative costs incurred in response to this RFI; all costs associated with responding to this RFI will be solely at the interested party TMs expense. Not responding to this RFI does not preclude participation in any future RFP, if any is issued. If a solicitation is released, it will be synopsized on the Federal Business Opportunities (FedBizOpps) website. It is the responsibility of the potential offerors to monitor these sites for additional information pertaining to this requirement. NAVSUP Weapon Systems Support (NAVSUP WSS) Mechanicsburg is seeking eligible contractors to furnish effort including labor, material, and facilities as may be required to manufacture the item as specified within this document. The Government intends to solicit for the procurement of: NSN 1377-01-622-7025, Nomenclature: Cutter, Cartridge Actuated, M21, 2 Sec. Delay, DODIC: M500. Government Drawing #: DL8568150, Rev B, dtd 27 July 2018. A 5-year indefinite delivery indefinite quantity, multiple award contract is anticipated. Stepladder quantities starting at 1,000 units is anticipated. The first order is estimated to be 4,000 units, anticipated to be split between two companies. The maximum stepladder quantity for orders (and pricing) is expected to be 10,000 units. Government Furnished Property in the form of PVU-12/A Ignition Devices will be provided. The M500 is a mechanically actuated pyrotechnic delay that severs parachute reefing line. Comprised of an interrupted firing mechanism, firing pin, primer, pressed column delay, ballistic charge, and a cutter blade all housed in a cylindrical aluminum body. The government possesses the full technical drawing package. The purpose of this RFI is to determine vendor availability and size status for small business set-aside determination. All responsible sources may respond via email to Stacey.romberger@navy.mil stating: 1. Company TMs intent to submit a proposal. 2. Cage code and Business type (large business, small business, small disadvantaged business, etc ) based upon North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code 325920. 3. Acknowledgement that you have accessed the technical drawing package on FBO. The official Request for Proposals will include additional details of any set-aside status and all proposal submission requirements. There will be a source selection for review of data other than pricing. THIS IS A REQUEST FOR INFORMATION (RFI) ONLY to identify sources that can provide M500s. The information provided in the RFI is subject to change and is not binding on the Government. The Navy has not made a commitment to procure any of the items discussed, and release of this RFI should not be construed as such a commitment or as authorization to incur cost for which reimbursement would be required or sought. All submissions become Government property and will not be returned.
