Background
The USDA Forest Service is issuing this solicitation for the Orleans Mountain Lookout Road Repair project located in the Six Rivers National Forest. The mission of the Forest Service is to sustain the health, diversity, and productivity of the nation's forests and grasslands to meet the needs of present and future generations. The goal of this contract is to repair sections of the road to ensure safe access for public and administrative travel.

Work Details
The Contractor shall furnish all equipment, personnel, and materials necessary to complete the road repair project. Specific tasks include: removing and stockpiling aggregate base and rip rap; preparing surfaces of identified damaged areas; backfilling damaged areas with aggregate base or rip rap; compacting surfaces; reconditioning and grading the roadway; reshaping rolling dips; placing cold patch where needed on existing asphalt concrete (AC) surface; uniformly applying asphalt chip-seal; and installing object markers for traffic control.

Additional requirements include: reconditioning roadway by removing irregularities; reshaping rolling dips to specified widths and slopes; preparing smooth surfaces for rip rap placement; applying roadway aggregate base where needed; compacting cold patch to ensure a smooth surface; applying asphalt and aggregate uniformly at optimal rates; correcting excesses or deficiencies in aggregate application before asphalt curing; rolling surfaces for proper bonding of aggregate; and implementing traffic control measures as outlined in the Traffic Control Plan.

Period of Performance
The Contractor shall complete all work within 60 calendar days from the Notice to Proceed.

Place of Performance
The project area is located on the Orleans Ranger District of the Six Rivers National Forest in California, specifically along Forest Service Roads 10N01, 10N10, and Orleans Mountain Road.
