MAINTENANCE AND INSPECTION OF THE FIRE ALARM SYSTEM   2

Background
The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Maryland Health Care System has issued a solicitation for the maintenance and inspection of the fire alarm system at the Martinsburg VA Medical Center. The contract is for a 5-year period, including one-year ordering periods as noted in the price schedule. The contractor is required to perform annual tests, semi-annual tests, inspections, and repair services as per the Statement of Work for the Martinsburg VA Medical Center.

Work Details
The contractor shall provide an annual cost for all labor, miscellaneous material, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, testing, and emergency service calls for the fire alarm system and related components at the Martinsburg VA Medical Center. The work includes inspecting and functionally testing various fire alarm, detection, and suppression systems according to National Fire Protection Association recommendations, manufacturer’s specifications, and local codes. The contractor must also provide emergency service calls 24/7/365 for repairs associated with normal equipment failures. Additionally, the contractor must have personnel with specific technical qualifications and certifications to perform the required tasks.

Period of Performance
The contract period includes five ordering periods beginning from January 2, 2023, to January 1, 2028.

Place of Performance
The work will be performed at the VA Medical Center campus in Martinsburg, WV.
