12.5 T - 18 T Forklift Rental

Background
The Pearl Harbor Naval Shipyard and Intermediate Maintenance Facility (PHNSY&IMF) is seeking to lease a forklift with a minimum lifting capability of 12.5 tons (25,000 lbs) and a maximum lifting capability of 18 tons (36,000 lbs). This acquisition is justified under the use of other than full and open competition due to the urgency of the requirement and the specific capabilities needed for upcoming drydock work.

Work Details
The contract involves the rental of one (1) forklift capable of handling loads between 24,000 lbs and 30,000 lbs. The intended use of this forklift is for short-term performance from June 22, 2026, to July 10, 2026. The need for this service arises from upcoming drydock work necessary for ship maintenance. The lack of material handling equipment and services to repair out-of-commissioned vehicles has generated the need for this service contract. The existing forklift in Dry Dock #2 has maintenance issues and cannot meet the required timeline.
