10x Genomics Chromium iX Controller

.THIS IS A NOTICE OF INTENT TO AWARD A SOLE SOURCE CONTRACT AND IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE QUOTES. IAW FAR 6.302-1(a) - Only One Responsible Source and No Other Supplies or Services Will Satisfy Agency Requirements - this purchase order is intended to be awarded as a sole source procurement to 10X GENOMICS INC, Transcriptional profiling of single cells has revolutionized the field of transcriptomic analysis and has enabled researchers to identify changes in gene expression on single-cell resolution. NNRL seeks to utilize this technology to further elucidate the mechanisms that underlie various human eye diseases and types of retinal degeneration. We've successfully acquired data using the 10x Genomics Chromium system during initial studies. This system requires the use of a proprietary controller and reagents manufactured and sold only by 10x Genomics. This system is the most widely used and trusted system to date and continuity of experimentation requires the use if this specific technology. The Chromium iX Controller being ordered is intended for additional, ongoing sequencing projects.

The 10x Genomics Chromium iX Controller is critical to the completion of ongoing projects. It is only available through the manufacturer, 10x Genomics. There are no other manufacturers that can be substituted since the 10X Genomics instrument and the required reagents have proprietary engineering that preclude any substitutions. For these reasons we are requesting the 10x Genomics Chromium iX Controller with a sole source justification. 10x Genomics only sells directly and there are no resellers.

This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However, all proposals received by the date specified herein will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete with this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.

Interested parties may identify their interest and may submit a quote and/or capability statement by 5:00 PM EST, 7 August 2022, which shall be considered by the Government. Capability statements and quotes shall be sent via email to holleyv@od.nih.gov.
