Description

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention intends to award a sole source firm fixed price to R. Ramakrisha, MD. to provide services for the Coal Workers' Health Surveillance Program (CWHSP). The vendor is a certified physician in the International Labour Office (ILO) Classifiication system, who classify chest radiographic images of coal mine workers participating in health survalliences due to jobs involoving exposure to mineral dusts such as coal mine dust, crystalline silica and asbestos for subtle signs of pneumoconiosis and other diseases. The vendor will perform required classifications of chest radiographs taken for all components of the CWHSP (includes Enhanced, Expanded, and Special Studies). Classifications for electronic images (analog no longer used) will be submitted electronically using NIOSH's ILO Classification form. Digital radiographs will be loaded in the Picture Archiving Communications System (PACS) for the vendor to retrieve, classify, and return all electronically.

The anticipated period of performance is 5 years (base + four options):

Base: 09/01/2026 - 08/31/2027

Option Year 1: 09/1/2027 - 08/31/2028

Option Year 2: 09/01/2028 - 08/31/2029

Option Year 3: 09/01/2029 - 08/31/2030

Option Year 4: 09/01/2030 - 08/31/2031

This contract action is for supplies or services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b) (SAP) and 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1). Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals.

This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations; however, all quotations/responses received prior to the date and time below will be considered by the government. A determination by the government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. Any quotation/response should be emailed to Contract Specialist at dwb7@cdc.gov by 7:00AM (ET) on 07/09/2026.
