Description
Project for USCG study by MIDLANT; Status Note (as of 08-AUG-22): On 10JUN22, SECNAV approved NS Newport as the homeport for two USCG Offshore Patrol Cutters. The Coast Guard intends to replace several bulkhead sections, demolish and replace Pier 1, and construct new shore-side admin and support facilities including laydown and parking. Initial efforts are focused on a holistic facilities program study, NEPA study, and real estate use agreement. The first construction project award is replacement of a bulkhead section scheduled for award in FY23. Program completion is estimated by end of FY29.
