The Coast Guard Office of the Chief Medical Officer Seeks Project Management Support for its 2025-2030 Strategic Plan

Section 11407 of Public Law 117-263, the Coast Guard Authorization Act of 2022, mandates that the Commandant of the Coast Guard conduct a comprehensive review of the Coast Guard's healthcare system and develop a Strategic Plan to improve and modernize it. A 20-member Review Committee completed a comprehensive review of the Coast Guard healthcare system and developed a strategic plan for its improvements. Thus, as a result, the Office of the Chief Medical Officer (CMO) is seeking to establish a temporary Program Management Office (PMO) with the responsibility to implement the Congressionally mandated healthcare activities. These activities include maximizing the medical readiness of Coast Guard members, preparing for the Coast Guard's future healthcare needs, and improving healthcare access for members, their dependents, and applicable retirees. The Office of the CMO is seeking to contract a project manager and two business analysts to support and assist the Office of the CMO in executing 21 improvement activities outlined in the plan. This support is essential to accelerate the modernization of the Coast Guard healthcare program.
