The mission of the U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) within the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) is to protect the American people, safeguard our borders, and enhance the Nation s economic prosperity. The Strategy and Governance Office (SGO) assists CBP in operating as a more future-focused, unified, and integrated law enforcement agency and resides in the Office of the Commissioner, with direct oversight and direction from the Commissioner, Deputy Commissioner, Chief Operating Officer, and the Agency Leadership Council.
