Description
Project constructs a single-story facility for a Modeling and Simulating (M&S) "real-life" laboratory for military operations and training. The facility will be equipped with an electronic laboratory with workbenches for development, repair and maintenance of software and hardware, research offices, system simulator room, conference room for training and operations, restrooms and showers, break room, and utility rooms for electrical, mechanical, communications, fire protection equipment, necessary walkways, and covered parking for utility vehicles. Work includes installing all necessary infrastructure to support the new facility. Site preparations include site clearing and temporary erosion controls. paving and site improvements include replacing sod or compacted aggregate surface on disturbed areas. This Project will comply with local, state, and federal environmental regulations. Areas affected by construction will be in compliance with applicable ATFP, Fire Suppression, Seismic Accessibility, ASHREA, and the LEED codes and standards (as required) upon completion of this project. Funds for this effort are from the Navy Capital Working Fund (NWCF) and are under the Capital Investment Program (CIP) and funds must be obligated within the approved FY. Construction coordination with lighterage operations (maintenance and movement) is required because operations cannot be entirely shut down.
