Description
Project Objectives: This project proposes to replace, remove and dispose existing cast iron pipe(CIP) and Asbestos Cement pipe(ACP) , 6" and 8" diameter waterline, valves, fittings, fire hydrants and related appurtenance. Replace the existing distribution line are summarized as listed below to includes the additional looping system 1. Replace approximately 6, 858 LF of 6-inch waterline with 8-inch butt fussed PVC Pipe. 2. Replace approximately 1, 350 LF of 8-inch CIP waterline with 8-inch butt fussed PVC pipe 3. Replace approximately 310 LF of 6-inch waterline with 12-inch butt fussed PVC pipe 4. Construct approximately 1,335 LF of 8-inch Butt Fussed PVC piping to provide an additional loop in the distribution system. The capacity of the distribution main in the lower Naval Magazine area is inadequate to convey the fire flows required in the area under both current and future conditions.
