REPAIR VALVE PITS ML1 TO ML6
Type: Forecast
Overview
Description
Repair Valve Pits Repair Valve Pits ML-1, ML-2, ML-3, ML-4, ML-5, and ML-6. These valve pits are along Santa Maria Street in the bulk fuel farm and contain all of the main, large diameter fuel pipelines. The pits all have major water intrusion problems causing pipeline corrosion and the pits to be ineffective for containment. Additionally, may of the pits have pipelines directly cast into the concrete, in violation of UFC and leading directly causing pitting corrosion, resulting in a leak and emergency repair and additional preventative repairs. Proper repair of these valve pits will require extensive excavation, shoring, and de-watering to repair the pits. Some of the pits were constructed without water stops and cold joints between the walls and floor. In addition to correcting the water intrusion problems, the concrete walls need to be demolished where they are cast directly against the fuel pipes and sleeves and with elastomeric seals need to be installed.
Valve Pits are part of the fuel pipeline, facility POLLF, RPUID 78051.
