Overview
Description
The project will include dredging of the Anaheim Bay Entrance Channel, portions of the Inner Harbor and the Public Navigation Channel for Naval Weapons Station Seal Beach (522,000 CY). The project will include an Option to dredge portions of the Outer Harbor and Outer Harbor -Extension (33,000 CY). The combined volume of dredged material is approximately 555,000 cubic yards.

If the dredging is not completed, it could become a hazard to ships entering the port area.
4. DESCRIPTION OF WORK (Full Project SCOPE):
BASE:
In general, the entrance channel appears in fair shape, considering it's been five years since it was last dredged. There is some notable shoaling along the right outer quarter, with high spots in the -36' MLLW range on the extreme eastern edge of the channel. The middle two quarters of the channel are consistently at -38' MLLW or deeper.
In general, the inner harbor is in good shape and there is little available material above the design depth.
Shoaling is occurring in the Public Navigation Channel, closest to the PCH bridge. It has shoaled as high as -14' in some areas. The design depth is -20'.
Dredge 522,000 CY of material.
Sampling and testing of sediment, and EA preparation to be completed in FY24
Bathymetry from the Jan 23 survey, CAD drawings and quantity calculations, along with historical dredge information has been placed here.
OPTION:
Volume calculations with the outer harbor extension' polygon included. Quantity comes to about 33,000cy with 2' of over depth.
