P‐678 New Satellite Communication Facility, NBGTS

This project proposes to construct a single story facility for Naval Satellite Communications (SATCOM) located on Naval Base Guam Telecommunications Site (NBGTS) to replace building #285. The facility will be a reinforced concrete structure with footings, columns, walls, beams, floor slabs, roof slabs, eaves, plumbing, mechanical, two types of fire protection, electrical (power, lighting, lightning protection and grounding) and communication systems. See attached supporting documents. Justification: If the project is not approved the current situation will continue. The new equipment racks that support the satellite communication missions have forced the existing operations personnel to relocate in order to provide space within the facility for the installation of these new racks. If not funded, building #285 will require modification at a significant expense.; Status Note (as of 11 DEC 19): Project inducted 12DEC19. This is a local PWD inducted E2 record for a planned FY23 MILCON for early action (PM "cradle" management). This will serve as the CI eProjects record until the HQ inducted E2 record is available. At that point, the HQ inducted E2 record will serve as the "official" record for project status.; Status Note (as of 18 DEC 19): Project inducted 12DEC19.
