NMMR Scanner Replacement
Type: Forecast • Source ID: OSMRE260003
Overview
Description
The current NMMR scanners are no longer meeting operational needs. New NARA regulations require that digital, permanent Federal records are up to certain technical specifications. At least one scanner is not longer functioning because it will not respond to the computer interface. The portal scanner has major issues with the seam lines along scanned images that must be scanned in multiple parts. The remaining table scanner does not scan images up to NARA specifications. NMMR must procure a new scanner that meets the functional needs of the NMMR mission, as well as to replace now obsolete technology with improved optics and capabilities.
