Overview
Description
U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) is a component of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). The primary mission of CBP is to prevent terrorists and terrorist weapons from entering the United States. This important mission calls for improved security at America's borders and ports of entry as well as for extending the zone of security beyond physical borders - so that American borders are the last line of defense, not the first. CBP supports approximately 1,900 geographically dispersed CBP locations both domestically and internationally.
CBP is dependent upon information from data, voice, video, teleconference, surveillance, Tactical Communications, and wireless systems to fulfill its mission. The dynamic growth, shifting patterns, deficits, and the expanding use of trade information by customers and end users in both the private and public sector have placed increased performance requirements on these systems. There is an escalating requirement to improve the robust functionality and to the above related systems.
The CBP Office of Information and Technology (OIT) is responsible for supporting business processes with the design, development, programming, testing, implementation, training, and maintenance of CBP automated systems.
The key element for this requirement is the installation of network topologies, cabling infrastructure backbone, electrical power distribution systems, and related equipment to support data, voice, video, Tactical Communications, teleconference, and surveillance along with other wireless application infrastructure. This capability is critical to CBP s effectiveness to fulfill its mission.
This procurement aims to award a Multi-Award (BPA) Firm Fixed Price with Equitable Adjustment contract to Small Business (5), Large Business (3) and 8(A) (5) vendors for all OIT cabling and cable installation requirements as identified in NAICS code 238210. The contract will be the required vehicle for Field Support (FS) components to place funded Task Orders to fulfill network cabling requirements at CBP facilities.
This contract will consist of 1-year base period and 4 1-year options commencing on the date of award. Based on historical demand for network cabling services, the total lifetime ceiling will not exceed $150,000,000. CBP anticipates this level should be sufficient to meet cabling needs throughout the duration of the award.
