Medicare Appeals System (MAS) -Recompete

The purpose of this requirement is to continue operations and maintenance (O&M), development, and enhancement of the Medicare Appeals System (MAS). MAS supports the healthcare claim appeals processes for the Medicare Fee-for-Service (FFS), Managed Care, and Part D benefit programs. The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) implemented MAS in 2005, to support legislatively mandated claims appeals processes for Medicare. MAS is a web-based application hosted within Amazon Web Services (AWS) cloud computing platform, consisting of several integrated subsystems that use a number of Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS) applications to provide a seamless environment for users to process appeals, generate correspondence to appellants, reporting, and serve as a repository for Medicare appeals.
