Maritime Approaches Surveillance Systems (MAST) Operations and Sustainment

The scope of work includes sustainment, maintenance, and logistics support for deployed MAST systems and systems transitioning to steady-state operations and sustainment across current and future sensor coverage zones. A MAST system uses commercial off-the-shelf sensor technologies, including maritime surface search radars, EO/IR cameras, encrypted AIS receivers, a Mission Management System, and payload platforms. Data is transmitted via a DHS-accredited network to authorized DHS operation centers. MAST systems operate 24/7/365 and include radar, camera, communications, supportability, power, and remote health-monitoring equipment. They are designed to meet cybersecurity requirements, withstand harsh coastal and marine environments, and operate on commercial or solar power with generator backup. Systems are deployed at strategic coastal sites using elevated terrain and site-specific configurations, such as towers, monopoles, tripods, raised platforms, or buildings, to maximize overlapping radar and camera coverage.
