JM26 C-LINCS Fiber Ring - Phase 8, B2521-B1721
Requesting up front planning review of JM26 C-LINCS Fiber Ring - Phase 8, B2521-B1721 SHAR 5940 to identify any foreseeable long lead processing approvals required (i.e. Explosive Safety Site Approvals) for this tentative planned buried fiber duct bank that will include mostly trenching with boring under roadways, railroads, & creeks. Requesting to initiate processing long lead approvals as needed to allow for an agreement on planned FY26Q2 Award through the 2025 Joint Memo.
JM26 C-LINCS Fiber Ring - Phase 8, B2521-B1721 SHAR 5940 Requirement Description (Pending C104 and NSA IT POC duct bank route, vault, FDU review/adjustments/agreement depicted in the attached images): The fiber infrastructure for NSWC Crane needs to be improved to handle current and future needs for high speed digital communications traffic. The current infrastructure is not documented well, is becoming antiquated, is at capacity in critical areas, not available in many locations, and it is not able to meet the future requirements for high speed digital communication. This project will cover the eighth phase for fiber infrastructure improvement, which is the installation of a new fiber duct bank from the intersection of 6x6x6 Vault (No FDU at this location) at HWY 331 and B-2521 intersection area with start of the connection occurring at the B3197 following the electrical line along HWY 331 and extending to the B-1721 and intersection of HWY-121 and HWY-331 area. This is the fourth phase of the North Ring connecting the previous stretch of fiber ending at the Small Arms area and connecting to the B1721 area increasing fiber connectivity north of Lake Greenwood. This portion of the North Ring will include the installation of approximately 3 miles of fiber. ; Possible Location Identification Detailing: ...
