To support the zero-emission vehicle (ZEV) goals of Executive Order (EO) 14057, Catalyzing Clean Energy Industries and Jobs Through Federal Sustainability (08 December 2021), Naval Support Activity (NSA) Crane requires additional electric vehicle supply equipment (EVSE) and infrastructure upgrades. Multiple charging sites are required for the Installation to comply with EO 14057. From 01 to 05 May 2023, CH2M HILL/Clark Nexsen Energy Partners, Joint Venture (JV), conducted a site visit at NSA Crane and identified potential electric vehicle (EV) charging system sites. These potential charging sites have been prioritized. Building 56, Public Works Department, is the top prioritized site for development of an EV charging system site at NSA Crane. The quantity of vehicles associated with the site, the quantity of ZEVs that will be acquired in Fiscal Year 2023, and the centralized location to other priority sites are the primary factors influencing this selection. The nontactical vehicles fleet consists of 43 light-duty (LD), 95 medium-duty (MD), and 4 heavy-duty (HD) vehicles. The Base requested to include an additional 28 LD vehicles associated with Building 2517 into this assessment. The EVSE charging infrastructure will be consolidated to a new centralized charging hub in the east lot of Building 2517 to support charging needs of fleets associated with Building 56 and Building 2517.
