HI2202M REPAIRS TO STORM DRAINAGE SYSTEMS B & C1
Type: Forecast
Overview
Description
Provide architectural and engineering (A-E) services for the development and finalization of this project's DD1391; and complete A-E services to provide full design and construction documentation for providing storm drainage system repairs in the vicinity of 1st Street, B Street, C Street, and D Street, which often flood during and after heavy rains in the Industrial Area of MCBH. Drainage system B is a minor system along the West segment
of 1st Street. The system has two catch basins for the B6181 (apron electric building) driveway along the
north side of 1st Street. These two catch basins (K6 and K7) connect to the other drainage system that collects
Hangar 104 roof storm water and discharges into Kaneohe Bay beneath the apron. A hydraulic analysis shows that five of the lines in this system appear to be undersized. The C drainage system is a major system which collects storm water runoff flows along 1st Street, B Street, and Third Street. Drainage system C is separated into two separate drainage systems (C1 and C2) at inlet L15 along Third Street. Drainage system C1 is the lower half of Drainage System C. A hydraulic analysis determined that the C drainage system is incapable of accommodating the storm water runoff flows for the 10-yr design rainfall flow. The lack of capacity causes overflowing of the drainage manholes which results in flooding problems along B Street from First Street to Third Street. Work shall include but not be limited to replacing the main storm drain lines, box culverts, drain inlets, catch basins, and installing a new detention storage system. Work shall also include but not be limited to communicating and coordinating with all MCBH stakeholders and NAVFAC agencies involved with this project, along with setting up design presentations and meetings, distributing deliverables and tho ...
