The objectives of this project are (1) to reduce the density of white-tailed deer within GETT andEISE to the initial deer density goal of 25 deer per square forested mile, and (2) to maintain thedeer density at 25 deer per square mile. The NPS is using an adaptive management strategy tobetter manage the deer population and should NPS monitoring indicate that the timing orintensity of management treatments need to be altered to better meet the goals of the plan, thedeer density targets
