U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS), within the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), requires telephonic and video-based foreign language interpretation and translation services to support the Field Operations Directorate (FOD) in its mission to adjudicate applications and petitions for immigration benefits. These services are essential for Immigration Services Officers (ISOs) to effectively communicate with applicants who often respond in their native languages during interviews. Accurate interpretation and translation are critical to ensuring the integrity of the adjudication process and enabling ISOs to evaluate applicant responses and make informed decisions. The scope of this requirement includes providing real-time telephonic and video interpretation services for 89 Field Offices, 25 District Offices, four Regional Offices, the National Benefits Center (NBC), and the Immigrant Investor Program Office (IPO), located across the continental U.S., Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico, Guam, Saipan, and the U.S. Virgin Islands. USCIS requires interpretation services for scheduled and unscheduled interviews, after-hours support, and rare language requests, ensuring uninterrupted access to qualified interpreters. USCIS also requires translation services for immigration-related documents in multiple languages and regional dialects, as specified by the agency. All interpreters and translators must meet industry standards for proficiency and professionalism, ensuring accurate and reliable communication. This requirement is critical to maintaining operational continuity, supporting USCIS s strategic goals, and ensuring the effective delivery of immigration services to applicants from diverse linguistic backgrounds. Note: USCIS Asylum Officers are not supported under this requirement.
