Foreign Language Translation and Interpretation Services

PR 20151243 - OFO is seeking language services under the Language Services II BPA for Translation and Interpretation Services. OFO requires telephonic interpretation (TI) services of oral communication to and from English and foreign languages under the Language Services II BPA. The Contractor shall provide accurate and confidential TI services in the primary language of the LEP individual. The exact duration of the TI sessions can vary in length depending on the circumstances, lasting from one minute to over five hours. The Contractor and its employees shall have high integrity and only provide accurate interpretations without embellishment or abbreviations. For both routine and unexpected situations, the Contractor must be able to provide services 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year (inclusive of weekends and holidays). Interpreters shall be located within the continental United States and its territories, outsourcing to overseas offices or activities or the forwarding of calls to overseas offices or activities is not permitted. Interpreters shall be familiar with specialized OFO terminology such as, but not limited to, asylum, admission, visa waiver, parole, and expedited removal. Interpreters shall verify that the LEP individual understands the interpreter and may ask clarifying questions in consultation with OFO employees. When TI services are required, OFO Officers or staff member shall be able to call a designated toll-free phone number and receive the services of an interpreter in the specified language within 10 minutes.
