Fast Healthcare Interoperability Resources (FHIR) Server

Type: Forecast

Overview

Description
The FHIR sever will allow the BEST IM Platform to have the necessary scalability to onboard various organizations, like regional and state health information exchanges, pharmacies, registries, etc., To achieve such scalability, we must have the ability and flexibility to interact with diverse systems that might have different technical abilities, or at different modernization stages, i.e. don't have FHIR capabilities, yet. This support is available in few commercial applications, such as IRIS for Health, which has been implemented, tested, used for a long period of time. Alternatively, building this support, designing and creating our own solution would be prohibitively costly and time. Leveraging, one of these integrated FHIR servers, and its built-in functionalities will enable the BEST IM Platform to interact and communicate with disparate systems to and provides a timely solution to this issue.
