Description
This requirement supports the Department of Transportation (DOT) Office of the Secretary s (OST) mission of the Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO), Office of AI and Data Analytics Solutions (S98), which manages and uses data to reduce information collection burdens on the public; increase program efficiency and effectiveness; and improve integrity, quality, and utility of data for all users within and outside the agency. This effort supports DOT in meeting its requirements outlined in OMB Circular A-130, Managing Information as a Strategic Resource and OMB Memorandum M-13-13, Open Data Policy - Managing Information as a Strategic Asset. Among other things, these policies require that DOT develop and maintain an Enterprise Data Inventory that conforms to a government-wide specification, and that the Department have the capability to offer machine-readable access to its datasets and can engage with dataset customers and users.
