DHS HSEN enables the sharing of information across DHS Components, to include shared Internet, intranet, and extranet services. The contractor is responsible for providing support for the following four (4) types of HSEN services: 1. Maintaining and improving network capabilities to include network modernization and emerging technologies 2. Providing technical support for the design, build, and upgrade of network systems 3. Ensuring that the network security architecture follows security standards and complies with federal and DHS architectural guidelines 4. Providing network performance engineering and network management support to include network monitoring using the tools and technologies provided by ITSO/EED
