DLA-POL Install Canopy at Service Station, FAC 6503, MCBH
Type: Forecast
Overview
Description
**Maximo WO# GT67G3 (Design)**
Current Situation: Currently there is no canopy to protect fuel equipment from elements. Rainwater floods the low point sumps inside the fuel dispensers causing electrical issues and erosion. Fuel dispensing hoses are cracking and leaking fuel due to dry rot from being exposed to the sun. During the heavy rainy season there is no cover from the rain, which is getting into customers fuel tanks/equipment causing fuel ignition problems. Fuel catchment consistently floods from heavy rainfall rendering it useless should there be an actual fuel spill. We are located on the windward side of the island which receives a substantial about of rain each year.
Mission Impact: Fuel dispensing hoses will continue deteriorate due to dry rot and have to be replaced well before their expiration date. Dispenser housings will flood after heavy rainfall, causing erosion to electrical/piping components located underground. Which can result in hundreds to thousands of dollars in repairs. Not to mention causing a leak from pipeline degradation due to rusting/erosion. During inclement weather, rainwater will get into customers equipment during refueling. Fuel dispensing equipment will deteriorate much quickly being exposed to elements 24/7.
SOW: Provide and install canopy over entire Base ground fuels service station. Canopy will provide protection from elements/weather. Thus prolonging life of equipment components, preventing equipment damage and preventing possible fuel leaks.
Requesting project induction for NFH Business Line services from DC (design), AM (DD1391, SAR, CIATT, SME Certification), and EV (NEPA/CATEX review). Execution strategy recommended: A-E or I-H DBB.
