COVID Electronic Lab Reporting (CELR) Op Maint and Enhancements

Type: Forecast

Overview

Description
The CDC COVID-19 Electronic Laboratory Reporting (CELR) system is a key component of the SARS-COV-2 pandemic response. The CELR system is a Data Lake and Services platform operating on the Association for Public Health Laboratories (APHL) AIMS hub, hosted on Amazon Web Services (AWS). (Public Health Laboratory Interoperability Project (PHLIP) (aphl.org)). AIMS is the APHL Informatics Messaging Services. CELR is built to support the integration of data sets from multiple sources and systems, ranging from local and state public health jurisdictions, to clinical and lab settings with data collected by federal agencies, including CDC. CELR collects and interacts with various inputs from an array of public health partners, providing critical value to the partner, CDC and public health on the COVID-19 pandemic. CELR receives line level COVID-19 laboratory results from data sources including public health partners, commercial labs and other point of care facilities. Data received through CELR feed the near real time CDC COVID Data Tracker. These data in conjunction with other COVID-19 related data sets provide insight into the situational awareness of the pandemic, informing the public health responders, the public, and leaders across the country.
