Description
The Third Party Liability (TPL) program is responsible for recovering the cost to the United States of medical care provided to persons entitled to care when their injuries/illness result from the negligent acts of third parties. Sources of recovery include liability, medical payments, Personal Injury Protection, and no-fault coverage in automobile and homeowner's insurance, as well as worker's compensation benefits. Recovery is sought both from insurance companies and from negligent parties directly. The contractor is responsible for collecting the information necessary for successful analysis of all potential claims, for assertion of claims where recovery is feasible, and billing these claims. This position is responsible for performing the duties related to the Tort program under the Federal Medical Care Recovery Act (FMCRA).
