Continuous Tubular Blender
Type: Forecast
Overview
Description
The continuous tubular blender continuously mixes incoming powder materials which are then directly transferred into downstream equipment for further processing. Powder blending is a necessary stage in any continuous tablet manufacturing process. Tubular blenders typically operate with a screw shaft and attached paddles situated down the center of a cylindrical chamber. Rotation of the screw shaft rotates the attached paddles in turn, facilitating transport and mixing of the incoming powder to generate a well-mixed blend that exits from the blender outlet. The blender must be adaptable to continuous manufacturing operation which includes options for the seamless integration of upstream and downstream unit operations. The blender must also have the capability to exchange signals with other existing OPQR equipment for tablet manufacturing, as well as the ability to interface with a supervisory control system.
