CDP Medical Support Services (MSS) contract

Authorized under the Departments of Commerce, Justice, and State, the Judiciary, and Related Agencies Appropriations Act of 1998 (Pub. Law No. 105-119) and the National Defense Authorization Acts of 1997 (Pub. L. No. 104-201) and 2000 (Pub. Law No. 106-65), the Medical Support Services (MSS) contract is mission-critical for protecting public health and safety, enhancing the capabilities of State, Local, Tribal, and Territorial (SLTT) emergency responders by supporting their participation in high-risk, lifesaving, and life-sustaining training. MSS provides essential occupational health services, including medical screenings and Red Blood Cell (RBC) Cholinesterase testing for participants in toxic agent training, as well as emergency medical services for chemical or biological exposures at the Chemical, Ordnance, Biological and Radiological (COBRA) Training Facility. By ensuring that State, Local, Tribal, and Territorial (SLTT) emergency responders remain medically supported throughout high-risk, lifesaving, and life-sustaining training, the contract bolsters national preparedness, safeguards communities, and meets Executive Order exemptions based on its indispensable role in public safety.
