(CATEX) (21333481)(DBB‐AE) Replace Failed HVAC Hot Water Loop UH Complex Bangor

AE DBB FY23 DESIGN / FY24 CONSTRUCTION Requirement: AE DBB project to replace failing HVAC Hot Water Loop suppling multiple buildings within the Bangor Unaccompanied Housing Complex. Justification: Replacement is required to restore the heating loop to fully operational status. Reoccurring leaks in the underground piping system result in makeup water use beyond the design capabilities of the system. Excessive makeup water leads to off gassing of entrained air and the formation of air pockets in the piping that restricts the follow of heating water. This condition affects multiple buildings during the heating season resulting in an unacceptable number of resident rooms with proper heating. Continued failure to provide adequate heating will result in the reduction of the number of Unaccompanied Military personnel that can be housed on the base.
