BLDG ‐ 616 Chiller Replacement

Problem Statement: B616 chiller (North side) is past its service life and needs replacement Scope of Work: Replace B616 365 ton water cooled chiller, ideally with same chiller as the other recently replaced one at B616, eProjects WO#1635537 Estimated Cost: $300,000 Funding Source: CNIC FY24 POC: LT Scardino timothy.r.scardino.mil@us.navy.mil 847 688 5395 x233 EV Comments: Conduct NEPA review. If the existing and/or new chiller system do not use refrigerants and/or Ozone Depleting Substances (ODSs), then this information should be documented. If the existing or new Chillers do use refrigerants or ODSs, then add language "Technicians working on, removing or maintaining refrigeration systems or other systems (e.g. air conditioning) containing ODSs must have current Section 608 Technician Certifications. Any recovered R22 materials must be returned to Shops and removing these materials off site is prohibited. An "Appliance" or "Chiller" form must be completed and returned to EV for any "old" refrigeration or ODS equipment scheduled for disposal. CRM Comments: B616 is a historic building. Depending on full project scope, a section 106 consultation with SHPO may be required prior to starting any physical work. Please forward project drawings and details to NSGL CRM as soon as they are available. APM Comments: A Hazmat survey will be required. Submit RFP/Design for review.
