B97 - SWIMMING POOL RECONSTRUCTION

Description: The purpose of the project is to design and construct new pool and associated systems and facilities to replace the old degraded ones that do not comply with current codes. Based on the assessment completed in 2021 under the project TO N3319120F4359 - Assessment of Base Pool , existing pool and associated systems and facilities face severe electrical and mechanical issues. In addition, existing filtration system doesn't comply with current codes and regulations. To upgrade them the footprint of the mechanical room needs to be expanded so structural works are needed as well. Complete replacement of the pool tank, surge tank, mechanical room, chlorine room and other associated structures and equipment is needed. New structures and equipment will comply with current applicable codes and regulations. A poorly maintained pool, may lead water to contain a range of microbiological organisms (microbes), including bacteria, viruses and protozoa. These microbes can cause health problems, such as gastroenteritis, ear, nose and throat infections. Environmental issues: Underground piping has experienced several breaks and unless replaced more leaks are expected due to being close to its service life.
