Description
Boeing and Honeywell are to be funded to perform non recurring engineering to place a hole in the existing dust cover of the F/A-18 E/F & E/A-18 G main landing gear brake assembly bleeder valve. They are to then demonstrate through testing that this hole can be incorporated and the remaining material is sufficiently strong to allow for the use of lock wire to hold the dust cap in place and prevent the loss of hydraulic fluid and directional control on the runway pre and post flight.
