The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA, or the Agency) is authorized under Section 408 of the Robert T. Stafford Disaster Relief and Emergency Assistance Act (42 U.S.C. 5174), as amended, to provide Direct Assistance to eligible disaster survivors. As part of its emergency response mission, FEMA provides standard household Appliances-- and Safety Equipment which are required in each Transportable Temporary Housing Units (TTHUs) to support displaced individuals. These items include Microwave Oven, Refrigerator/ Freezer, Electric Range/Oven (Standard Electric Stove), Range Vent Hood, NOAA Weather Radio (with Strobe), Strobe Light, Bed Shaker compatible with NOAA Weather Radio, Dual Connector for Weather Alert System, Pillow Shaker, 2 in 1 Strobe Light (for fire), Recreational Vehicle (RV) Door Lock, and Dehumidifier (Floor Model).
