AIRFIELD - PACAF HQ - B1102H REPLACE ROOF PHASE 1 SUBPHASE A-B-C-D-L wing
Type: Forecast
Overview
Description
First Priority: Phase 1 Subphase I includes (A, B, C, D, L wings) ~70,092 SF
Request roof replacement. Wings A, B, C, D, & L Sections have deteriorated with sizable holes. Areas have deteriorated further with holes approximately 1.5" diameter, exposing the underlying insulation. In addition, the area of roof with rust ranging from surface to full depth, including multiple holes as noted above, has increased from approximately 20-SF to approximately 400-SF. There are mission critical communications lines routed through the attic which could be damaged by the water and/or debris from the holes in the roof. Also, there are old roof hatches that are not properly weather sealed that will continue to allow water leaking from the roof to infiltrate into the office space below.
The size and extent of rusting noted in the picture submitted was enough to flood several offices on B3rd almost a year ago. With the continuing increase in the size, extent and severity of the rusting of the metal roof, it is only a matter of time before an even larger event occurs affecting mission critical coms and personnel in the office space below.
