Current relocatable buildings are Type V (combustible) construction and therefore do not meet the 8010 manual requirement to minimize the use of wood to reduce fire hazards. The NAVSEA Carrier Team One strategy requires our relocatable buildings to be used on CVN hanger bays and in dry dock within 35 feet of the hull. The new design will be of Type IIB construction (non combustible) meeting the 8010 manual requirement. This design needs to be awarded in 1st QTR FY19 to support building purchases in FY19 through FY20 to support scheduled CVN availabilities FY21. Information for design attached.
