1109N - Procurement, Marine Corps
Description
The Trailers program within the Navy's procurement efforts is designed to enhance the Marine Corps' operational capabilities by providing mobile infrastructure solutions. This initiative supports the Marine Corps Force Design 2030, aiming to establish expeditionary operations centers and secure mission planning spaces for the Fleet Marine Forces. The primary objective is to enable rapid integration of classified capabilities within the Joint Force, thereby enhancing decision-making processes during networked operations.
A significant aspect of this program is the procurement and deployment of temporary Intelligence Community Directive 705 (ICD-705) solutions. These solutions are crucial for supporting operations and intelligence convergence across various classification levels, particularly in alignment with the Family of Integrated Targeting Cells (FITC). The program plans to acquire "multi-domain watch-floors" and deployable 20-foot containers that can seamlessly integrate into existing docking bays, thus providing flexible and secure operational environments.
The increase from FY 2024 to FY 2025 reflects a strategic push to procure these advanced trailer solutions. Specifically, the plan includes acquiring two multi-domain watch-floors and nine relocatable containers. These assets are intended to bolster the Marine Corps' ability to conduct operations at the forward edge, ensuring that personnel can access necessary resources and information in a timely manner.
Contracting for these trailers involves collaboration with companies such as iFortress and ARMAG, utilizing Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contracts managed by agencies like the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA). This approach ensures that the procurement process remains flexible and responsive to evolving operational needs, while also maintaining a focus on delivering high-quality infrastructure solutions that meet stringent security requirements.
