Description
The Test & Evaluation Support program within the Navy focuses on sustaining and modernizing essential test and evaluation capabilities across various facilities. This initiative supports the Naval Undersea Warfare Center Detachment Atlantic Undersea Test and Evaluation Center, the Naval Air Warfare Center Weapons Division, and the Pacific Missile Range Facility. The program aims to maintain core test support resources, ensure compliance with environmental regulations, and provide necessary infrastructure upgrades to support advanced weapons systems development.

A key component of this program is the Atlantic Undersea Test and Evaluation Center (AUTEC), which offers a comprehensive underwater range facility for testing undersea warfare systems. Located in the Bahamas, AUTEC manages both deep-water and shallow-water ranges equipped with advanced tracking and simulation systems. The center's objectives include maintaining operational readiness through infrastructure improvements, such as upgrading potable water systems, and ensuring compliance with cybersecurity requirements to support ongoing test operations.

The NAWC Weapons Division is responsible for maintaining test capabilities at China Lake and Point Mugu in California. These facilities provide extensive land, sea, and airspace for testing electronic warfare systems and other military technologies. The division's goals include sustaining radar signal emulators and enhancing battle shaping capabilities through special access programs. Efforts are also directed toward maintaining essential test support aircraft for evaluating aviation platforms and weapon systems.

In Hawaii, the Pacific Missile Range Facility supports Navy and Department of Defense test operations with precision radar, telemetry assets, and optical tracking systems. The facility aims to sustain these critical assets to meet customer requirements while ensuring cyber compliance of telemetry equipment. Maintenance efforts also extend to marine vessels used for launching torpedoes and providing range surveillance, ensuring they meet American Bureau of Shipping certification standards for safe operation at sea.
