Standard Boats

Standard Boats under the Navy's Other Procurement budget activity, aims to procure a variety of boats to fulfill allowances established by the Chief of Naval Operations (CNO) and Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA). The program's specific goals include replacing boats that are beyond economical repair at shore activities and aboard ships, as well as meeting fleet force protection, maritime interdiction, law enforcement, and other operational requirements. The program elements encompass a range of small to large boats, each tailored for specific missions such as force protection, dive support, search and rescue, and oil spill response. Additionally, the program seeks to ensure that the inventory objectives can adapt based on Fleet requirements.

The objectives of Program 1210 - Standard Boats involve fulfilling the Navy's operational needs by providing a diverse fleet of boats with varying capabilities. These include small gasoline-powered boats for force protection and maritime interdiction operations at Naval activities and adjacent ports, medium-sized diesel-powered workboats for multi-purpose applications such as towing and harbor cleaning, and larger vessels for riverine security and mine warfare support. The program also includes specialized craft for Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) support, Naval Special Warfare (NSW) operations, and pollution control equipment. By procuring these standard boats with specified service lives ranging from 7 to 25 years, the program aims to ensure that the Navy has the necessary assets to carry out its diverse range of missions effectively.
