CVN Refueling Overhauls

CVN Refueling Overhauls led by the Navy, aims to ensure the readiness and longevity of the CVN 75 aircraft carrier through a comprehensive refueling and complex overhaul (RCOH) process. The specific objectives include advance procurement funding for increased engineering support, technical services, and long-lead material procurement to support the RCOH execution start date in May 2025. In FY 2024, major activities will focus on basic construction for parking garages and a multi-use facility to enhance crew members' quality of life. Additionally, the program will complete planning efforts performed by public shipyards, warfare centers, and SUPSHIP, including engineering support, authorized work package development, and technical reviews to facilitate a successful RCOH.

The program also includes significant efforts in electronics and ordnance requirements. In FY 2024, there will be primary year activities for GFI/GFE long lead-time procurement and technical planning for modernization of combat systems, interior communications, C4I systems, radars, and weapons systems. This includes long-lead material procurements for various critical hardware components such as Network Tactical Common Data Link (NTCDL), Ship Self Defense System (SSDS), Automatic Carrier Landing System (ACLS), Close In Weapon System (CIWS), and Machine Gun System (MGS) modernization. The program's overall goal is to ensure that the CVN 75 is equipped with updated and reliable systems to support its operational capabilities during and after the RCOH process.
