Description
The Concepts Experimentation Program is designed to enhance the Army's capabilities by exploring solutions across various domains such as Doctrine, Organization, Training, Materiel, Leadership and Education, Personnel, and Facilities (DOTMLPF). Its main goal is to reduce risks for current and future forces by informing Army futures concepts and evaluating high-risk conceptual assumptions. This effort involves collaboration with Army Battle Laboratories, operational units, research labs, materiel developers, industry, and academia to develop and refine future force concepts.

Army/Joint Experimentation focuses on integrating and assessing future force concepts through live, virtual, and constructive environments. It supports the Joint Warfighting Assessment (JWA) and Army Focused Warfighting Experiments (AFWE), which aim to validate operational concepts for the Army of 2030. These experiments provide insights into designing the Army of 2040 and are intended to accelerate force modernization by integrating Multi-Domain Operations (MDO) concepts at various echelons.

The Current Force Capability Gaps project addresses modernization challenges by developing integrated concepts and requirements. It ensures that all DOTMLPF considerations are part of capability development. This project supports Capability Development Integration Directorate (CDID) Battle Lab experimentation to inform modernization decisions through a comprehensive Campaign of Learning. Additionally, it maintains the Army Capability-based Architecture Development and Integration Environment (ArCADIE) for managing authoritative architecture data.

Project Convergence is a crucial element of the Concepts Experimentation Program, focusing on advancing solutions in areas such as people, weapons systems, command and control, information, and terrain. It aims for rapid integration across all domains to maintain an advantage over adversaries. Project Convergence includes multiple experiments like Capstone that refine understanding of future operational environments. The project emphasizes achieving full Multi-Domain Operations capability by 2035 while integrating select technologies into the Army 2030 framework.
