Description
The CI AND HUMINT INTELLIGENCE (HUMINT) CAPABILITIES program is a new initiative set to begin in FY 2025 as part of the Army's procurement activities. This program is designed to enhance the capabilities of Counterintelligence (CI) and Human Intelligence (HUMINT) collectors by providing them with a comprehensive set of expeditionary tools. The primary objective is to equip these teams with the necessary resources to effectively meet Commanders' intelligence requirements and ensure force protection.
A key component of this initiative, the Counterintelligence/Human Intelligence Equipment Program - Army (CIHEP-A), focuses on modernization efforts. It aims to deliver a scalable and modular set of equipment that includes computing systems from the Joint common hardware Mounted Family of Computer Systems, alternative power source connectivity, and advanced communication systems for Beyond Line of Sight operations. Additionally, it provides mission support packages for team management and reinforcement with sophisticated collection and security equipment.
In FY 2025, the program plans to procure 32 units using both Commercial off the Shelf (COTS) and Government off the Shelf (GOTS) components. This initial deployment will lay the groundwork for future enhancements in CI and HUMINT operations. The overarching goal is to ensure that CI and HUMINT teams are fully equipped to perform their functions efficiently in various operational environments.
The CI AND HUMINT INTELLIGENCE (HUMINT) CAPABILITIES program represents a strategic investment in intelligence capabilities, aiming to bolster national security through improved information gathering and analysis. By focusing on modularity and scalability, the program seeks to adapt to evolving threats and operational demands, ensuring that intelligence personnel are prepared for current and future challenges.
