Description
The Ballistic Missile Defense Command and Control, Battle Management & Communication (C2BMC) program, managed by the Missile Defense Agency, seeks to enhance the United States' missile defense capabilities. Its primary objective is to establish a comprehensive operational system for strategic planning and management of missile defense operations across various command levels. This involves integrating networked sensors and weapons systems to meet global and regional mission objectives. The C2BMC system connects defense systems like Patriot, Aegis Ballistic Missile Defense, and Ground-based Midcourse Defense with advanced radar and infrared sensors to improve threat detection and tracking.

The program also aims to enhance coalition partners' capabilities by exploring innovative space applications for missile defense systems. It integrates existing sensor elements within the Missile Defense Agency and other services into a globally integrated sensor architecture. Additionally, it supports the Defense of Guam initiative by establishing command centers and communication support across the island, ensuring secure and resilient networks for missile defense operations.

Cybersecurity is a key focus of the C2BMC program through its Cyber Operations component. This includes maintaining risk management frameworks, conducting security assessments, and ensuring compliance with federal information security standards. The program continuously develops and deploys cybersecurity measures to protect mission-critical systems from potential threats.

The C2BMC Test component supports system testing through flight tests, ground tests, wargames, and exercises as outlined in the Integrated Master Test Plan. This ensures that C2BMC capabilities are interoperable with other missile defense components and meet prioritized capability requirements. Test facilities provide an environment for pre-test analysis, test execution, post-test analysis, software verification, validation testing, and system integration testing to maintain operational readiness against evolving threats.
