Description
The White House Communication Agency (WHCA) plays a vital role within the Defense Information Systems Agency, focusing on secure global information services for key figures such as the President and Vice President of the United States. WHCA's primary mission is to ensure seamless and secure communication for its high-profile clients, including White House staff and various national security entities. This involves maintaining and modernizing communication infrastructure to support operations ranging from Presidential Airlift Group communications to Continuity of Government sites.

A major emphasis for WHCA is on modernization efforts aimed at replacing outdated IT systems with advanced technologies. This includes acquiring new equipment to enhance communication capabilities, ensuring command and control, and facilitating information sharing at all classification levels within the Presidential Information Technology Community network. The agency strives to maintain a 100% effective communication rate, given its critical mission in national security. To achieve this, WHCA operates across five core areas: Broadcast and Audio-Visual Services, Transport Services, Senior Leadership Communications, Enterprise IT, and Deployable Services.

In Broadcast and Audio-Visual Services, WHCA provides multimedia services that enable the President and other leaders to communicate effectively with both domestic and international audiences. This includes supporting audio-visual systems, broadcast production, and multimedia production capabilities. The agency also enhances transport services by utilizing emerging network technologies to provide secure point-to-point connectivity for senior national leadership.

For Senior Leader Communications, WHCA ensures robust telecommunications support through dedicated infrastructure that facilitates secure teleconferencing and radio communications. The agency continues to evolve its network backbone infrastructure while adopting new commercial solutions for enhanced capabilities. Additionally, Enterprise IT services are being expanded to deliver a reliable digital ecosystem that supports mobile environments through modern security measures and innovative applications. Deployable Services further extend these capabilities by providing mobile communication solutions during travel missions outside the National Capital Region.
