Description
The TROJAN program is a crucial part of the Army's intelligence infrastructure, aiming to enhance operational readiness and provide tactical commanders with remote access to signal environments. It supports the training and sustainment of intelligence skills essential for maintaining a high state of readiness. The TROJAN architecture facilitates split-based and force protection operations, directly supporting warfighters by providing infrastructure for intelligence operations.

The evolution into TROJAN NexGEN focuses on advancing readiness in technical and operational signals intelligence, operational intelligence production, dissemination, and support for split-based operations. TROJAN NexGEN is designed to provide remote access to target environments, enabling split-based operations from secure locations. This capability allows commanders to meet priority intelligence requirements across various conflict scenarios.

The system supports the Army's strategic planning by ensuring key personnel are prepared for mobilization in mission areas outlined in The Army Plan (TAP). By leveraging reach technology relay capabilities, TROJAN NexGEN can meet deployment timelines through readiness training venues, supporting units from Brigade Combat Teams through Corps and Echelon Above Corps (EAC).

Additionally, the program includes the TROJAN SPIRIT component, which provides secure, high-capacity communications essential for tactical to strategic reach-back operations. This capability is vital for split-based operations, ensuring that sensitive compartmented information is processed and communicated effectively. The transition from SPIRIT Phase IV to a Mod-in-Service vehicle-based system reflects a shift in program requirements, focusing on engineering, integration, fielding, and training enhancements.

The objectives of the TROJAN program are centered around maintaining operational readiness and enhancing the Army's intelligence capabilities through advanced systems like NexGEN and SPIRIT. These efforts ensure that commanders have the necessary tools to respond rapidly to any level of military conflict while supporting comprehensive intelligence requirements across the spectrum of operations.
