Description
The Training and Education Equipment program within the Navy is dedicated to enhancing Live, Virtual, and Constructive (LVC) training capabilities, which are essential for preparing combat-ready forces. This initiative supports the Navy Continuous Training Capability (NCTE) by providing necessary equipment such as training systems, network equipment, IT equipment, and C4I systems. It also ensures the maintenance of five Training Support Vessels (TSVs) in the Atlantic Fleet, which are crucial for open ocean Opposing Force (OPFOR) services and range services due to geographical constraints.
The program aims to upgrade educational infrastructure at the U.S. Naval Academy through the Academic and Professionally Accredited Enterprise Education Enclave (AEEE) system. Planned upgrades ensure graduates are technologically prepared for future naval service. The Naval Education and Training Command (NETC) is involved in recruiting, training, and delivering sailors to the fleet with support from SIPR Datacenter and TRANET capability upgrades. These upgrades include modernizing telecom infrastructure with Voice Over Internet Protocol (VOIP) across multiple NETC commands.
In the Pacific Fleet, TSVs support Joint Live, Virtual, and Constructive (JLVC) training capabilities for exercises throughout the region. These vessels are designed to operate in various sea conditions to meet Fleet Training requirements. The program provides resources for procuring and maintaining these TSVs to ensure their operational readiness.
Additionally, the program includes initiatives such as Ballistic Missile Defense (BMD), Anti-Access Area Denial (A2AD), Naval Integrated Fire Control - Counter Air (NIFC-CA), and Fleet Synthetic Training (FST). These initiatives focus on enhancing mission area fleet sustainment training, mission rehearsal capabilities, and supporting high-end threat training events. Efforts also include network consolidation on both coasts to improve training network infrastructure.
