Description
The Tractor, Full Tracked program is a significant part of the Army's procurement strategy, aimed at enhancing construction equipment capabilities within military operations. The main objective is to modernize the dozer fleet, particularly through the production of T-9 Medium Dozers. These dozers are equipped with advanced technology to support future autonomous operations, providing essential capabilities for Combat Engineer, Quartermaster, and Transportation Companies. The T-9 Medium Dozer Type I with winch is designed to facilitate infrastructure construction and maintenance, crucial for various military operations such as breaching and port opening.

Additionally, the program includes the T-9 Medium Type II Dozers with ripper, tailored for Engineer and Vertical Construction Companies. These dozers play a vital role in conducting horizontal and vertical construction tasks necessary for establishing and maintaining military infrastructure. The inclusion of technology that supports semi/full autonomous operation enhances their utility in complex operational environments. This capability aligns with the Army's broader objectives of increasing mobility, maneuverability, deployability, and sustainability across diverse military scenarios.

The program also features the T-5 Light Dozers, both Type I and Type II variants, which serve Engineer Support Companies and Brigade Combat Teams. These light dozers focus on rapid airfield repair and military facility construction tasks. Their capabilities include clearing obstacles and preparing terrain for various engineering tasks, thereby supporting general engineering requirements in military operations. The emphasis on rapid deployment and operational readiness highlights their importance in maintaining effective military infrastructure.

Furthermore, the Tractor, Full Tracked initiative incorporates Construction Equipment Virtual Trainers (CEVT) to enhance training efficiency within the Army Engineer School. These simulators provide a cost-effective training solution by reducing equipment maintenance and fuel costs while offering diverse training scenarios. CEVT supports skill development in equipment operation under simulated conditions that may be too risky for actual equipment use. This approach aligns with the National Defense Strategy's goal of fostering ingenuity in training methodologies.
